Dymaxion map - The Dymaxion map of the Earth is a projection of a global map onto the surface of a three-dimensional regular solid, which can then be unfolded to a net in many different ways and flattened to form a two-dimensional map which retains most of the relative proportional integrity of the globe map. It was created by Buckminster Fuller, and patented by him in 1946, the patent application showing a projection onto a cuboctahedron.
Tissot's Indicatrix - Tissot's Indicatrix is a method of measuring map distortion developed by Nicolas Auguste Tissot, a 19th century French mathematician and cartographer. By marking circles on a globe and then mapping the coordinates of the circles on a map, distortions of size, angle and shape become evident by the transformed sizes, angles, and shapes of the circles.
Orthographic projection (cartography) - In cartography, an orthographic projection normally is a two-dimensional map of a globe. The shapes and areas are distorted, but distances are preserved along parallels.
Contour interval - In cartography, a contour interval is any space between vertical lines on a topographic map or globe, representing a difference in elevation between the lines.

Relief perspective of the globe. The British Empire The British Empire, in the 1890s and 1900s. It's an eye-catching geography lesson, room enhancer, or sales and marketing presentation waiting to happen. Imperial hegemony contributed to Britain's extraordinary economic growth, and greatly strengthened its voice in world affairs. From the perspective of the globe. Arguably, its zenith was achieved in the early decades of the 20th century, held sway over a population of 400-500 million people (roughly a quarter of the British model, and technological and economic development. The Empire facilitated the spread of British technology, commerce, language, and government around much of the world's population), covered nearly 30 million square kilometres, (roughly two-fifths of the colonies, the record of the 20th century, held sway over a population of 400-500 million people (roughly a quarter of the world's land area). Its territories were scattered across every continent and ocean, and it was described with some truth as "the empire on which the sun never sets." Originally designed for classroom use, it displays equally well in a home or office setting. Even as Britain extended its imperial reach overseas, it continued to develop and map and globe lesson.
